OUR PROJECTS

Transforming Lives, Empowering Communities.

Solving real problems takes real commitment and vision. For more than 60 years, our members have used their passion, energy, and intelligence to take action on sustainable projects.
Rotarians at Work

Since its inception 60 years ago,

the Rotary Club of Nairobi South has been synonymous with all that is good and decent in humanity, steadfastly promoting the values and principles of the Rotary philosophy.

The club has contributed immensely to the development, transformation, and empowerment of diverse communities across the country.

Our projects include:

  • Providing artificial limbs and wheelchairs to amputees through the Jaipur Project.
  • Supplying clean water to arid and semi-arid communities.
  • Equipping vocational training centres and schools.
  • Sponsoring needy children to pursue secondary education.
  • Supporting teenage girls with sanitary towels to ensure uninterrupted education.
  • Funding Loresho Eye Hospital.
  • Supporting physically challenged individuals through various initiatives, including our legendary Christmas parties for differently-abled youth.

To date, in partnership with the Rotary Foundation, our club has provided over Kshs. 800 million in funding for these transformative projects.

As the club celebrates its 60th anniversary, we reflect on our accomplishments and explore how we can build on our legacy to continue improving lives and communities. In the post-COVID era, amidst economic and geopolitical challenges, we remain steadfast in forging new public and private sector partnerships, developing innovative project initiatives, and embracing technology to meet the evolving needs of those we serve.

This innovative approach is particularly evident in our flagship Jaipur Foot Project, where we are collaborating with a state-of-the-art 3D printing organization to revolutionize prosthetic solutions.

We continue to support Kivaa School for the Deaf and Dumb in Kitui County, where our interventions have tripled student enrollment. Moreover, the club aims to scale up the Mother and Child Project, anchored in vertical kitchen gardens, to boost the nutrition of breastfeeding mothers.

As we look to the future, the Rotary Club of Nairobi South remains dedicated to advancing impactful service and creating sustainable solutions for vulnerable communities.
